TOGAF certification is a detailed methodology and a set of supporting tools for
developing enterprise architecture and may be freely used by any organization
wishing to develop enterprise architecture for use within that organization.
TOGAF certification means The Open Group Architecture Framework. It is the most
prominent and reliable enterprise architecture standard, ensuring consistent
standards, methods, and communication among enterprise architecture
professionals. Enterprise architecture professionals fluent in TOGAF
certification standards enjoy greater industry credibility, job effectiveness,
and career opportunities. The original development of TOGAF certification
Version 1 in 1995 was based on the Technical Architecture Framework for
Information Management (TAFIM), developed by the U.S. Department of Defense. The
key to TOGAF certification remains a reliable, practical method; know as the
TOGAF 9 Architecture Development Method, for defining business needs and
developing an architecture that meets those needs, while utilizing the elements
of TOGAF certification and other architectural assets available to the
organization. TOGAF certification in its Enterprise edition remains what it has
always been, namely an architectural framework - a set of methods and tools for
developing a broad range of different IT architectures.
TOGAF
certification was first published in 1995; TOGAF was based on the US Department
of Defense Technical Architecture Framework for Information Management TAFIM.
From this sound foundation, The Open Group Architecture Forum has developed
successive versions of TOGAF at regular intervals and published them on The
Open Group public web site. TOGAF certification is the only open standard
method for developing enterprise architecture. TOGAF certification helps
practitioners avoid being locked into proprietary methods, utilize resources
more efficiently and effectively, and realize a greater return on investment. TOGAF
certification, an Open Group Standard, is a proven enterprise architecture
methodology and framework used by the world's leading organizations to improve
business efficiency. The Open Group's IT architecture framework certification
means you know how to build enterprise applications from the ground up.
The
Open Group's goal with TOGAF certification has always been making the TOGAF
architecture development method an open standard method, which is neutral
towards tools and technologies. There are two routes to TOGAF certification,
the first is simply to sit the exam, the second is to attend a TOGAF certified
course which takes 4 or 5 days to go through all of the TOGAF material and
results in the TOGAF certification and there is no TOGAF exam. The TOGAF
exam is relatively straightforward but like all exams, preparation and a deep
knowledge of subjects, that is TOGAF training is needed along with TODAF course.
TOGAF certification will be a great investment for everyone. I achieved
certification by taking the TOGAF certification approved TOGAF course and TOGAF
training. TOGAF certification enables IT architects to design, evaluate, and
build the right architecture for their organization, and reduces the costs of
planning, designing, and implementing architectures based on open systems
solutions. TOGAF certification was developed by The Open Group's own members,
working within the Architecture Forum, who's broader goal is to enable
businesses to achieve the right balance between IT effectiveness and business
innovation.
