ARCHITECTURING GROWTH WITH TOGAF

Just as we need building blocks to erect a building or a monument, we need  to construct an organisation and plan its growth by planning and introducing changes in such a way that the organisation grows in a routine manner. A person who can plan such growth and put it into practice is someone who has done TOGAF certification. He is called an enterprise architect.
The growth of any organisation is based on its vision document. A vision is one or two lines statement issued by top management which clearly lays down the path that the organisation must take to achieve the planned growth. The vision statement needs to be translated into reality by the enterprise architect. TOGAF training is thus in high demand as all the industry needs enterprise architects to manifest their vision into reality. The enterprises are sending their management professionals for TOGAF course so that a permanent post of enterprise architect can be offered in the organisation.
The enterprise architect who has received his certification from TOGAF by doing TOGAF course is entitled to begin the process of transitional architecture. The first step in the whole gambit of growth is to study the existing processes and procedures and then identify the areas that require alterations and modifications which will likely lead to growth of the organisation. This requires a detail study of voluminous data on each and every process of the operations. It then leads to earmarking the areas that require improvement. TOGAF training only can give you an eye for pin pointing such details.
The second step is then to assess and identify the type of technology that would be required to affect such modifications. Again lot of data of existing technology and the new futuristic trends are studied and analysed to ensure that intended changes are backed by the technology. No wonder then that ITIL expert works in tandem with the enterprise architect to list out the changes and the accompanied technology. The data to be studied here is so much that an enterprise architect becomes a near pro in IT. He becomes capable of drafting the IT frameworks and IT policy of the organisation and ensures proper utilisation of IT resources and tools to ensure that considerable amount of cost reduction in IT takes place thus enabling the funds saved to be utilised for growth.
The third step is the way these changes are introduced in the organisation. TOGAF training trains you to remember always that any change can create a panic amongst the employees to an extent that the organisation may come to standstill. This situation should never arise. Hence, the TOGAF course teaches you to blend the new with the traditional in such a way that change seems a natural phenomenon. The growth is thus affected in a smooth and efficient manner.
The above three steps are the main building blocks of enterprise architecture. There are other blocks like HR and IT that determine the success of the change for growth. All these aspects are part of your study for enterprise architecture which will be covered in TOGAF certification.
